My flowers

For the challenge at Bulle d'artistes Atelier.

You have to produce a 'bubble' the shape and size of a CD and this week the challenge is to add at least three home-made flowers in different materials.

I have made mine from the top of a yoghurt pot creased to make petals and coloured with some Distress ink in 'mustard seed' with centre of tiny gold beads on a sticky dot;the second one is some dotty organza ribbon sewn to make a flower; and the third is wood paper with a centre of butternut squash seeds painted gold.

My signature

Yippeee!!!

I've managed to put my genuine signature at the bottom of all my posts from now on thanks to Megan's instructions here.

You should give it a go; it must be easy if I can do it!!

Edward in a Bubble

I have made this for the challenge at Bulle d'artistes Atelier following Frankie's example.

If I understand correctly (and my French is none too good!) the challenge is to produce something the size and shape of a CD but not a CD and this week's challenge is to use altered coins.

I have used an old penny of King Edward VII from 1906. He was the son of Queen Victoria and the great-grandfather of our present Queen and he had a bit of an eye for the ladies!!

I have used an image from The Sum of All Crafts, which I mirrored and tinted in PSP, a background from *spark*your*imagination and various embellishments from my stash.

Now it can be revealed!

I'm delighted that my friend Frankie has done me the honour of inviting me to be the very first Guest Hostess on her new challenge blog DragonsDream Tag It On and here is my sample and how I did it.

I started by using Distress 'mustard seed' and Ink It Up 'Pink' to get some initial colour on the tag and then ran it through the Cuttlebug using the 'Distress Stripe' embossing folder. To add even more texture I then did some random embossing with Distress Powder in 'scattered straw' and 'worn lipstick' as shown in the close-up.

I stamped 'Mona' in Archival Ink 'Carnation' and 'create' and 'ART' in Palette 'Sun Flower' - all stamps from Ma Vinci's Reliquary.

The final touch was the addition of two toning metal stars from a £1 bracelet and two toning ribbons which also have some extra texture.

I do hope you'll all join in the challenge and I look forward to seeing your creations!

Tree House

For the challenge at Dans ma maison il y a

The image was created in PSP using a background from Wikimedia Commons and the main image from The Sum of All Crafts.

The edges were torn and distressed with Distress Inks in 'tea dye', 'mustard seed' and 'dusty concord' and attached to a khaki card backing.

The frame and roof was made using twigs from my garden and feathers from a cushion on my sofa!

The final touch was a tiny brass butterfly charm from my stash.

Fancy a cuppa?

A rather strange Tea Party for the challenge at Sunday Postcard Art and that at Rainbow Lady's Challenge Blog .

This was done entirely digitally using one of Arthur Rackham's wonderful images rather than the Tenniel ones that everyone knows but I did add Tenniel's White Rabbit as a sort of ghostly image and a reminder of the earlier illustrator.

Girls

An arch for the challenge at Gothic Arches.

Backing paper from Crafty Individuals - I'm afraid I can't remember where the picture of the two little girls came from but I'd be really grateful if someone could remind me! Then I used some paper lace, a heart-shaped doiley tinted with a Copic marker and some 'Pearly Stuff' to create the finishing touches.

P.S. Thanks to Robin I now know where the girls came from - it was  ARTIVITY so thank you to Lorri Lennox for her generosity.

Is it or isn't it?

For the challenge at Make a Moo or Two which is Zettiology.

Now I had no idea what Zettiology was and I'm still not really sure but this is my attempt at it; it's a combination of digital and my own drawing so I hope it fits the bill! The wording says 'Just what is Zettiology?'

There's a Fairy at the Bottom of my Tag

For the challenge at DragonsDream Tag It On.

Background done with  Starburst Stains splashed on gloss laser paper with a large brush and then swooshed around using a compressed air spray, stamped with some flourishes in Versafine 'Majestic Blue' and Brilliance Ultimate Metallic 'Teal', sprayed with silver glitter varnish,a piece of torn vellum added and sprayed again.

The fairy was created with elements from Lisa's Altered Art and I threaded some tiny glass beads on to some wire with a little metal heart on the end which had also been sprayed with glitter.
