A newly discovered Work of Art

For the Three Muses Challenge

A newly discovered work by the famous French painter Nicolas Poussin (1594 - 1665) this shows Lady Henrietta Wyandotte and her daughter Gallina of Orpington House. Gallina was later to marry into the famous Leghorn family.

  5. Ah, Ali, you never let us down. My history of art is sadly lacking. I never dreamed that there was an aristocracy of chickens and great works of art depicting their lives and lineage. This picture deserves a place in the most prestigious of museums. Fantastic!! (Thanks for the chuckles).

  12. Oh, Ali, had I not enlarged this to absorb every detail, I'd have missed those corner embellishments of feather and egg! Her "cap" looks like a feed sack with a bit of grain sticking to it. Your comments are hilarious, and your attention to detail inspiring! STANDING OVATION from my corner!
