Anyone for Croquet?

This week's challenge at Three Muses is 'Fun & Games' and that's exactly what I had!
For a  start I went completely mad and thought that I had read that the challenge was 'Keyholes' so I made this - a previously unknown Alice book by Lewis Carroll.

Credit to nicolefrancine on Flickr for the book cover and Google for 'Arthur Rackham's Alice' and the keyhole.
Font is 'Yesternight'.
Then when I went to post it on Wednesday I realised my mistake so made this in a bit of a hurry

I found this lovely image by Norman Rockwell on the internet; I thought it was just perfect for the challenge and only needed a frame made for it which is what I did. That'll teach me to look before I leap!

  2. Oh Ali, I'm so sorry. You got caught in a trap of our making. We DID post "keyhole" as the sneak peak -- for about 15 minutes -- until we realized the previous challenge had been "keys" and decided to change it. We're sorry for the confusion---but we got two gorgeous entries for the price of one!! Croquet was a favorite game for my family. We tied pieces of white cloth on the arches and played until after dusk by the tall yard light. It was a happy time. Thanks for reminding me!

  9. Ali, it was me who had the 'senior' moment and decided on keyhole, only to immediately realize we'd had key the week before. Sheeesh.

However, every cloud has a silver lining as here you are giving us two absolutely wonderful pieces. Applause from my corner my friend.

  12. Hi Ali! I see that Bev and Ann have cleared up the confusion. You weren't seeing things but, my oh my, you were quick because I think the first sneak peek was up for only a few minutes before we realised that the keyhole theme had been included in the previous challenge. Who cares, especially if we are getting two great pictures for the price of one. I love your "Alice through the Keyhole" and I love your gorgeous "Anyone for Croquet" picture. Great work.
